Driver has not divulged the name of the father since her pregnancy was announced, and says that she doesn't know if she will stay with him after the baby is born. 'It's great to be an independent creature. Today you don't need a man anymore." Driver adds, "In the old days, if you had a baby without marriage, people would put you out. I'm very into feeling this female thing."

Obama Assassination Plot? Police may have foiled an assassination plot against Barack Obama, concocted by members of a white supremacy group. KUSA-TV says three men are in custody after a routine traffic stop near Denver revealed two rifles, high-powered scopes, ammo and crystal meth. One suspect led authorities to a hotel, where another suspect jumped out of a fourth floor window in an attempt to escape. Sources said, "Two of the men had tattoos and jewelry popular with white supremacists."

Michelle Obama welcomes Jill Biden: "I've stayed out of this process, but when he told me his choice, I said, 'That's the right choice.' I was like, 'Good!' " Michelle said after her husband's announcement Saturday that Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware would be his running mate. In Springfield, Illinois the two women had a chance to hug and get acquainted. At this week's Democratic National Convention, both families will come together, as the Obamas' daughters Sasha, 7, and Malia, 10, will be joined by Joe and Jill's five grandchildren, ages 2 to 14. "I can tell you the kids are gonna have a lot of fun in Denver," said Michelle Obama.

Obama/Biden ticket makes debut: Senator Obama introduced his running mate to a roaring crowd in Illinois yesterday, and Biden wasted no time attacking his longtime friend and Republican nominee John McCain. Biden said McCain "can't change America when you know your first four years as president will look exactly like the last eight years of George Bush's presidency." The two top Democrats will campaign across the country and head to Denver, where Obama will accept the nomination from his party on Thursday night, in front of a crowd of 70,000 people.

Hillary Clinton praises Obama's VP choice: The dream ticket of many democrats won't become a reality, but today Senator Clinton released a statement supporting Obama's choice of a running mate. Clinton said Senator Joe Biden is "an exceptionally strong, experienced leader and devoted public servant [who] will be a purposeful and dynamic vice president [and] help Senator Obama both win the presidency and govern this great country."

Ellen and Portia to have kids? Newlyweds Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are planning their future together, which may involve a baby. "We go back and forth," de Rossi, 35, tells People."I don't know if it's our immediate future. It's something we talk about every few months." Says DeGeneres: "It's something we would never take lightly and just say, 'That would be fun.' It's a lot of work and we recognize that. In a way, we want to be selfish because we love our life, but we know how much that adds to it."
